Pumpkins and Pillows

I count autumn from the first day of September, and you can already see the Halloween items gathering in the stores.  A quick and easy way to decorate without spending too much money but which can instantly transform a room is with pillow covers.  I love pillow covers!  So I googled Halloween pillow covers, and here are my favorites:

Halloween Queens

I made these dolls with Erte Elegance, a popular dress-up doll internet game.  Wouldn't they make fabulous costumes?

The second one is my favorite.

Gilded Pumpkins

Inspired by a $50 and Change promotion for Lowe's that I found in my inbox this evening, a Google image search for "gilded pumpkins" yielded fantastic results:

Paired silver and gold are usually reserved for the Christmas holidays, but gold is a particularly autumnal color, and with white pumpkins being in fashion the way they are, there's nothing that says you can't go all silver-and-gold traditional for fall.

Glitter added to these gilded gourds make them even more elegant.  I can see them as centerpieces at a black-tie charity fundraiser event.

Just stunningly gorgeous.

Haunted Barn

Pottery Barn does Halloween well, and I look forward to it every year.

My favorites this time are:

Add spooky charm to a cottage parlor by throwing sheets onto chairs and stretching around some cobwebs.  Accent the mantle with a clutter of unsettling, apothecary objects.

I do love these flying crows.  Something about their mismatched heights, and the black iron reminds me of an old fashioned wind gauge.

Oh, and the threadbare books are a nice touch that transfer well into other seasons.

Wild

Owls are in this autumn.

They perch precariously between the wild beauty of autumn and the eeriness of All Hallows' Eve.

This cute owl tea light holder was given to me by my mother.  She got it from the dollar store for cheap!

It was so easy to snap and upload these quick Instacam photos this evening to share.

Spooky Centerpieces

There's no need for a party as an excuse to make a seasonal display on your dining room table.  Or even on the foyer sideboard or the mantle.

I found these on the Better Homes and Gardens website, which continues to be a wealth of information through all the holidays.

Boo Centerpiece

Ghost Book Pop-ups

Haunted Typewriter

Pumpkin Stands

Recycled Centerpieces

These were my favorites.   I love things that incorporate letters, typeset, pages . . . anything to do with words!
